Richard Strauss' tone poems in review

Stefan Mickisch | Piano and Moderation

„Even men from mars know that no one can compose as well as Strauss,” observed Stefan Mikisch during the 2016 festival to the great satisfaction of the assembled audience. The music academic and pianist is often called the „21st Century Opera Guide“ and has a big fan club in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.  His piano arrangements of symphonies, his lectures and his suggestive talks are unique. Charming and incredibly knowledgeable he will keep us informed, astonished and entertained about all of Richard Strauss’ nine Tone Poems. Whoever attends this afternoon session will enjoy the evening concert even more.
